520 3 |a CD-ROM (read-only memory) is an easy-to-use form of information storage in all fields of learning. Hence the topical issue of ROM-based information quality and preservation. This paper describes experimental findings on the effects of ambient temperature and relative humidity, UV rays and mechanical action on the preservation of various information types. The findings can be used to predict CD permanence.
