520 3 |a The isothermal compressibility and bulk thermal expansion of molybdenum diphosphide, MoP2, were measured by in-situ X-ray powder diffraction from ambient conditions to 6.8 GPa and 839 K, respectively. A small anisotropy of the compressibilities in MoP2 appears to be governed by non-bonding interactions in this layer-like material. The thermal expansion data are compared to molybdenum phosphide, MoP, which was measured to 1262 K.
