| 520 | 3 | |a The article emphasises the outstanding philological effort of Eusebius's ecclesiastical history edited by Eduard Schwartz, its stimulating effect on the research on Eusebius and its significance for the technique of critical editions. It is shown at a passage, which is controversial since recently (h.e. IX 9,10 [832,7 Schwartz]), that his text decisions are very mature and convincing even in sophisticated cases. Schwartz has keen-wittedly recognised that one has to distinguish between two different threads of text tradition. Nevertheless, the conclusions drawn out of this report on several editions published by Eusebius leave open a number of questions. | |
