   <subfield code="a">Using a monoclonal antibody to DNA from mouse together with gold-conjugated anti-mouse IgG antibody (Au-Anti IgG), Iocalization of nuclear and chloroplast DNA molecules in light/dark synchronized cells of Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Dangeard was examined in the electron microscope. When chloroplast nucleoids form an aggregate around the pyrenoid at an early phase of the cell cycle in the synchronized culture, DNA molecules in the nucleoids are interconnected with DNA fibrils. It was found that when the chloroplast nucleoids migrate toward the pyrenoid forming the aggregate, DNA molecules extended from the chloroplast nucleoids meet with those from nuclear chromosomes. It was suggested that genomic interactions may occur between the nucleus and the chloroplast during an early phase of the Chlamydomonas cell cycle.</subfield>
