   <subfield code="a">Oligomeric proteins capable of dissociation into subunits of which they consist, when fish were kept under conditions of an increased salinity (higher than 10‰), were found in the blood of bony fish in the albumin fraction. The dissociation of oligomers proceeded in the course of their transcapillary transport into interstitial fluid. Oligomeric proteins were found only in fish whose life cycle was related to fresh waters; in nonmigratory marine fish, such proteins were not found. The appearance of serum oligomers in the taxon Teleostei can be related to the formation of the inner environment of the organism in marine ancestors of bony fish and to the subsequent occupation by them of fresh waters. The suggestion is substantiated that proteins of ancient marine fish could exist in the inner environment as isolated polypeptides that in the course of occupation by fish of fresh waters united into complexes for a decrease of the value of the oncotic blood pressure, which stabilized filtration processes in the fish body under conditions of fresh waters.</subfield>
