   <subfield code="a">A new kind of device was developed based on integrating in-vivo microdialysis with electrochemical microsensing. It can be applied to in-vivo determination of dopamine in rat striatum of freely moving rats. The microsensor was fabricated by electrochemically depositing a film containing overoxidized polypyrrole and multi-wall carbon nanotubes onto a carbon fiber microelectrode. It causes efficient and selective electrocatalytic oxidation of dopamine and displays relatively good stability and lifetime. The oxidation currents for dopamine are linear in the concentration range from 5.0 nM to 10 μM, and the detection limit (at S/N = 3) is 0.5 nM. The integrated device was successfully applied to assessing the impact of an endogenous donor of nitric oxide (sodium nitroprusside) on the concentration of dopamine in striatum of moving rats.
