   <subfield code="a">Basic relationships were derived for the kinetic and equilibrium characteristics of gradient ion chromatography. A new version of the IonChrom program was developed to solve direct and inverse problems in the simulation of ion chromatography for various systems with both isocratic and gradient elution conditions. The use of the exploratory inverse problem method for processing data given in the Dionex catalog allowed us to classify Dionex sorbents in terms of selectivity.</subfield>
