   <subfield code="a">summary: The experimental data for the elastic electron scattering from nuclei are analysed using a recently developed version of the density functional theory. The possibility for reproducing the experimental form factors and local densities in terms of the independent-particle picture in nuclei is theoretically justified. The pseudoexperimental form factor in the case of the nucleus40Ca is described. Some information about the radial dependence of the wave functions of occupied single-particle states is obtained.</subfield>
