   <subfield code="a">Summary: We discuss a nontrivial one-dimensional motion, θ-rotation, of a ring,i.e. a closed string characterized by a constantr. In the presence of a central potential field, the ring can be described by a simple quantum equation. We obtain exact solutions and discuss a &quot;ring model” of composite quarks. The model leads to ultrastable and nondegenerate states with an exponential mass spectrum. It predicts the upper limit∼63 GeV for the top quark mass, independent of parameters in the potential.</subfield>
