   <subfield code="a">The T-x phase diagrams of the GeSe-GeI2 and NaI-GeI2 pseudobinary systems have been studied using differential thermal analysis, x-ray diffraction, and electrical conductivity measurements. The results indicate that GeSe and GeI2 form a eutectic at 85 mol % GeI2 (420 ± 4°C), with a restricted series of GeSe-based solid solutions (0-9 mol % GeI2 in the range 50-300°C). The NaI-GeI2 system (investigated in the range 0-70 mol % GeI2) contains a compound of composition NaGeI3, which melts at 750°C and undergoes a polymorphic transformation at 170 ± 4°C. NaI and NaGeI3 form a eutectic at 33 mol % GeI2, with a melting point of 386 ± 4°C. In the range 140-420°C, the GeI2 solubility in NaI is 3 ± 1 mol %. According to conductivity data, the optimal compositions for solid electrolytes are 3-6 and 0.1-0.3 mol % GeI2 in the GeSe-GeI2 and NaI-GeI2 systems, respectively.</subfield>
