Copper at a content of 0.3-4.5% promotes to a greater degree than magnesium, zinc, or silicon an increase in the strength of secondary alloys VD1, AKM, and AMM. 2. The most favorable combination of strength and ductility properties for secondary alloys is observed with copper to magnesium ratio of 2.5-3.5 with which alloys have a two-phase structure α+S(Al2Cu, Mg). 3. Alloy AMM should be produced as two alloys: AMM1 containing not more than 0.6% copper (thermally unhardened), and AMM2 containing 0.6-1.6% copper (thermally hardened). 4. Alloy 1105 has lower production and mechanical properties than alloys VD1 and AKM.</subfield>
