   <subfield code="a">In the presence of ammonium sulphate or other inorganic salts, the aqueous solution of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) can be separated into liquid and solid phases. The distribution behaviour of bromopyrogallol red (BPR), Cu(II), Bi(III), Sc(III) and Zr(IV) between the liquid and solid phases was studied. The quantitative extraction separation of some metal ions based on this system was carried out by controlling the acidity of the solution. The extraction mechanism for the PVP solid phase was further discussed.</subfield>
