   <subfield code="a">Conclusions: -- In the investigated series of specimens of carbon fibre materials of various assortments, properties, and methods of modification, basically carbonyl groups were detected on the surface of the fibres. -- After modification of ÉLUR-M carbon tapes by the electrochemical treatment method in a neutral electrolyte using an elevated process power, in addition to carbonyl groups, acidic groups are formed in relatively large amounts but in smaller amounts after treatment with ozone at elevated temperatures. Phenolic groups were detected by separate determination of the acid group content. -- From the content of oxygen-containing groups formed, it was found that the optimum method for modifying the surface of carbon fibres is electrochemical treatment.</subfield>
