   <subfield code="a">Conclusions: -- A procedure has been proposed for evaluating the energy state of fibre surfaces from their critical surface energy in the case of wettability. This figure correlates with the value of liquid ascent per unit of time which is used according to the All-Union State Standard, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9687. -- A procedure has been proposed for evaluating the wetting rate of fibres from the value of the wetting constant. It has been shown that values for the wetting constant correlate well with the values according to All-Union State Standard 3816-81 with a correlation coefficient of 0.9885.</subfield>
