   <subfield code="a">Summary: In this paper we show that the evolution of a quantum state, driven by a harmonic-oscillator-type Hamiltonian, can be studied using tools exploited to characterize the evolution of a charged beam in a transport channel. The relevance of the Courrent-Snyder invariant and of Twiss-like parameters to characterize,e.g., the amount of squeezing is carefully pointed out.</subfield>
