   <subfield code="a">Summary: Based on a nonlinear theory for laminated spherical caps, the nonlinear vibration of symmetrically laminated thin spherical caps with flexible supports is investigated by a multi-mode approach. A Fourier-Bessel series solution is formulated and satisfies the associated boundary conditions. The governing equations expressed in terms of transverse displacement and stress function are fulfilled by the Galerkin procedure and the method of harmonic balance. Numerical results in the nonlinear vibration are presented for various boundary conditions, cap rises, numbers of layers and material properties. Present results are compared with available data.</subfield>
