   <subfield code="a">It is proposed to determine the creep characteristics of optically active materials used for simulation of the stressed state of structural elements by stress relaxation tests. A material based on D-20 epoxy resin with five variations of chemical composition was investigated. Flat specimens with a working section of 4x2 mm were loaded in a special frame and the patterns of the fringes observed. The exponent m of the basic rule of creep was determined from the equation of N. N. Malinin for a relaxing stress. The results of the work make it possible to approximately determine the boundary of the ratio of maximum effective stress to Young's modulus below which the investigated material is linearly creeping.</subfield>
