   <subfield code="a">A multicoupled region is considered with external forces given at the edges. Complex potentials are used, whose density has a direct physical meaning (the complex displacements of points on the edges), and singular integral equations are derived from them. An auxiliary function similar to Sherman's for two-coupled regions is used to generate regular integral equations. These equations are shown to be always soluble in conjunction with additional conditions having a simple physical significance. A circular ring is considered as an example, for which it is possible to derive the final results in explicit form. These formulas enable one to identify feature in the state of stress and strain in a ring subject to localized or nearly localized forces.</subfield>
