   <subfield code="a">In this paper, we use our previous results ([1, 2]) on the statistics of signal to interference plus noise ratio in the context of a frequency hoppedTdma cellular radio system with a cluster size of one, in an attempt to evaluate the cellular capacity of such a system. We define cellular capacity to be the maximum uniform density of communicating users (expressed in users/cell) that can be handled by the system for a given allocated bandwidth. The cellular system is said here to handle the uniform density of users when the probability that an acceptable performance is achieved is higher than a certain threshold. For the speech service, for example, we consider that an acceptable quality is achieved when the probability that theBer is below 10-3 is higher than 99% for every user in the system. In evaluating the cellular capacity, a repetition code (the most simple form of coding) is considered. Two idealistic hypotheses are admitted however so that maximum likelihood decoding can be assumed. The analysis presented in this paper demonstrates that a high cellular capacity can be achieved in the context of the considered frequency hoppedTdma cellular system.</subfield>
