   <subfield code="a">In this paper, the electromagnetic properties of clouds made out of metallized flat and thin plates are studied. The characteristic movements of these objects in atmosphere, in conjugation with their backscattering patterns, give this type of clouds very interesting behavior. Their average radar cross section (rcs) is very stable after the resonance zone and the polarimetric ratio is remarkably weighted for all the linear couples of polarization. Experiments in laboratory are in agreement with the theory established here and permit to look at the application of such a type of clouds for frequency higher than the Ka bank (26-40 GHz).</subfield>
