   <subfield code="a">The low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), one of the best characterized cell-surface receptors, mediates cholesterol homeostasis and other functions in mammals. The members of the LDLR superfamily are structurally related and characterized by distinct functional domains. Insect lipoprotein receptor is called lipophorin receptor (LpR) and belongs to the LDLR superfamily. Here, we review the structural and functional aspects of lipophorin receptors.</subfield>
