Sie zeigt das Verhalten von Effektiven Altruisten auf und überprüft die anhand einer Literaturrecherche aufgestellten Hypothesen zum Effektiven Altruismus. Kernstück dieser Arbeit ist die Untersuchung und Weiterentwicklung eines Modells zum besten Spendenentscheid. Dazu dienen eine Literaturrecherche, eine Umfrage sowie Interviews mit Effektiven Altruisten. Das aktuelle Modell mit seinem ausgeprägt rationalen Fokus ist nicht geeignet, den individuell besten Spendenentscheid zu fällen. Deshalb erweitert die Autorin das Modell um eine emotionale Dimension. Diese beinhaltet die persönlichen Werthaltungen und Präferenzen und gesteht jedem Spender so viel Emotionalität zu, wie er benötigt, um überhaupt zu Spenden und zugleich einen möglichst rationalen Spendenentscheid zu treffen. Das erweiterte Modell wird in den Interviews kritisch reflektiert und als geeignet identifiziert, um den individuell besten Spendenentscheid zu fällen. Die Hypothesen können mit einer Ausnahme bestätigt werden: Die Mehrheit der Befragten kennt den Effektiven Altruismus nicht. Allerdings kann sich fast die Hälfte vorstellen, 10% ihres Einkommens zu spenden. In einfachen Fragestellungen stimmen die meisten Befragten mit dem Effektiven Altruismus überein und passen ihre Spendenentscheide entsprechend an. Sobald die Fragestellungen jedoch komplexer werden und zusätzliche Faktoren wie Gerechtigkeit oder persönliche Werthaltungen berücksichtigt werden, stimmt die Mehrheit nicht mehr mit der utilitaristischen Haltung des Effektiven Altruismus überein. Dies ist ein weiterer Indikator für die Notwendigkeit, das aktuelle Modell zu erweitern. The present work examines effective altruism with its contradictions and limitations. It shows the behavior of effective altruists and examines the hypotheses of effective altruism based on a literature review. The core of this work is the investigation and further development of a model for the best donation decision. A literature review, a survey and interviews with effective altruists will help. The current model with its pronounced rational focus is not suited to make the best individual donation decision. That is why the author adds an emotional dimension to the model. This includes the personal values and preferences and grants each donor as much emotionality as he needs to donate at all and at the same time make the most rational donation decision possible. The extended model is critically reflected in the interviews and identified as suitable to make the best individual donation decision. The hypotheses can be confirmed with one exception: the majority of respondents do not know effective altruism. However, almost half can imagine donating 10% of their income. In simple questions, most respondents agree with the effective altruism and adjust their donation decisions accordingly.
