| 520 | 3 | |a Adsorption of nitrogen at 77 K and benzene at 293 K on granules of a porous carbonaceous material obtained through mixing of petroleum pitch and technical carbon (carbon black) followed by granulation and carbonization at 700°C has been studied. Measured adsorption isotherms have been processed with the use of the BET and αS methods to determine the total surface area of samples, as well as the surface area of mesopores and the content of micropores. It has been shown that the obtained samples contain a small amount (less than 0.05 cm3/g) of micropores, which are present in pitch coke; i.e., the number of micropores in the final granules increases with the pitch content in the initial mixture. This fact must be taken into account when producing adsorbents and catalyst supports based on this material. | |
