520 3 |a Low-temperature nitrogen adsorption-desorption isotherms have been measured for samples of silica, titanium dioxide, and a TiO2/SiO2 composite xerogel prepared via acid hydrolysis and polycondensation of tetraethoxysilane, titanium isopropoxide, and a mixture thereof, respectively, in the presence of cetylpyridinium chloride at different Ti/Si molar ratios. It has been shown that nitrogen adsorption isotherms for silica are of type I and indicate the formation of micropores, while those for titanium dioxide and the TiO2/SiO2 composite are of type IV, which is characteristic of mesoporous adsorbents.
