We revealed significant variability of cardiomyocyte ploidy (from 2.9c to 13.5c) that directly correlated with myocyte size; the maximum ploidy was found in young patients. Ultrastructural signs of increased contractile and synthetic activity of cells were observed in patients with high DNA content in cardiomyocytes. | |
