   <subfield code="a">Monitoring of dust emission from the point stationary source assumes considerable importance so far as air pollution is concerned. In view of this observation, an online photoelectric particulate matter or dust monitoring device is fabricated and operated. Two different types of particulate matters, such as soot and fly ash particles, are used for calibrating the device and for recommending use for such a system. Interestingly, a single calibration curve has been obtained for the two types of dusts studied. However, two separate calibrations are necessary, one for lower ranges of dust concentration (0-450mg/m3), while the other for higher range of dust concentration (0.05-120g/m3). In these two cases, linear logarithmic relationships are obtained from nonlinear regression analysis. Statistical results further indicate high functionality between the parameters used.</subfield>
