   <subfield code="a">Three lanthanide thioantimonates [Ho(en)4]SbVS4·0.5en (1, en=ethylenediamine) and [Ln(teta)(en)SbVS4] [Ln=Ho (2), Y (3), teta=triethylenetetramine] were prepared under mild solvothermal conditions and structurally characterized. 1 consists of isolated [Ho(en)4]3+ ion, tetrahedral [SbVS4]3− ion, and free en molecule. Both 2 and 3 contain neutral lanthanide-centred complex, where the tetrahedral anion [SbVS4]3− acts as a chelating ligand to complex [Ln(en)(teta)]3+ cation. Density functional theory calculations for both 2 and 3 have been performed, and the band gaps of 2.02eV for 1, 1.78eV for 2 and 1.83eV for 3 have been derived from optical absorption.</subfield>
