   <subfield code="a">A novel strategy has been applied for synthesis of bimodal mesoporous silica by ionic liquid [C16mim]2[W2O3(O2)4] as a single template as well as tungsten source to incorporate tungsten species onto mesoporous silica. The results show that the sample possesses short-range ordering dual-mesopores and the tungsten species are incorporated onto the mesoporous silicas matrix successfully. The material also turns out to be a robust catalyst for oxidative desulfurization without any organic solvents. Sulfur removal of dibenzothiophene could reach 100% within 30min when using 0.2W-SiO2 (mole ratio between W and Si is 0.2) as catalyst. Moreover, this catalyst could be recycled nine times with little decrease in activity.</subfield>
