   <subfield code="a">We designed and fabricated a dielectric Fabry-Perot filter (FPF) with pass band of 24nm as the output coupler of a [111]-cut Nd:YAG laser to restrain the strong emission near 1064nm and obtain a 1073.8nm lasing output with a plano-plane resonator cavity. The threshold pump power is about 2.9W. The maximum output power is 261.7mW at pump power of 5.3W and the slope efficiency is 12.1%. Passively Q-switched 1073.8nm laser is realized using a [100]-cut Cr:YAG crystal as the saturable absorber. The full width at half maximum (FWHM) pulse duration of 75.7ns and pulse repetition rate of 4.23kHz is achieved at pump power of 5.3W. The design principle of the Fabry-Perot filter used as output mirror is discussed and the advantages of the method are summarized.</subfield>
